The Project
RK&K provided engineering and environmental services for preliminary engineering of a new interchange on the Route 250 Bypass at the intersection with McIntire Road. RK&K completed the NEPA Environmental Assessment / FONSI (Finding Of No Significant Impact), a Section 4(f) evaluation, and Section 106 consultation.
The project included environmental technical studies, preparation of environmental/NEPA documentation, public involvement, traffic data collection and analysis, roadway alternatives development, and structural design. A suit was filed against the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) regarding issues related to NEPA and Section 4(f). RK&K worked with the FHWA to compile the Administrative Record.
The interchange was completed after the FONSI and Section 4(f) withstood the legal challenge and the case was dismissed.
